Creating sub-groups for easier management & reporting
An asset group is a collection of assets and is something created on an individual floor. It provides an easy way of managing similar assets, grouping assets together for simpler reporting and identifying where assets are. Asset groups are marked by the ‘checkbox’ icon in the Accordion.
Creating New Asset Groups
You can create new asset groups on the "Map" view in the Accordion menu.
On the top navigation bar click “Map” view.
On the left-hand side, you will find your accordion where you will be able to navigate between the different group levels.
Clicking next to the plus sign will bring up a cursor to name your new group and pressing the enter key on your keyboard will confirm the creation of the new group.
Editing Asset Groups
You can edit the names of your asset groups in the Accordion as well. To do this:
While in the map view open your accordion on the left-hand side.
Hovering your cursor over the group level you wish to edit and you will see a pencil and bin icon.
Click on the “Pencil” to edit the name of your desired group and enter to confirm the edit.
Click on the “Bin” icon to delete the group and its sub-groups.
One thing to note is that deleting a group will delete any sub-groups and all information saved within this group and its sub-groups. Only delete a group if you are happy to proceed with this. It is NOT possible to reverse this decision.
Moving Assets
Once a group is created, you can move assets into that group.
To move an asset(s) to a new location go to the “map” view.
Select the group level you wish to edit using the drop-down menu.
Click on the “tools” icon on the top right of your page.
This will bring up the tools options.
Click on “Map edit mode”.
The “map edit options” window will pop up for this group. The options will be greyed out until an asset is selected.
Click on the assets you wish to move, clicking on the assets will highlight them in orange colour.
In map edit options to the right, click “assign asset(s) to group".
A window will appear highlighting the current group the asset belongs to.
Click on the highlighted group to un-select the group and click on the new group to select it.
Click assign to approve the changes made.
Click the X on the top right of the “map edit options” to close the edit window.
If you’ve created a new occupancy focused asset group, your next step would be to create occupancy zones. Otherwise, your new group is done and ready to use!
