Identify peak traffic times and better manage your capacity
Our Footfall panel allows you to understand the overall footfall throughout your space better and how many people are actively using it. By utilising this panel, not only will you be able to prevent overcrowding and queues, but you will also be able to understand the true number of people entering your space.
Setting up the Footfall Panel
To set up the Footfall panel, navigate to the panel selector at the bottom of a data view you own and click on the Footfall icon.
This will create a panel at the bottom of your data view and prompt you to select your asset groups. You can do this by clicking on the 'funnel' icon.
Clicking on the 'funnel' icon will present a pop-up detailing your panel's configuration. Use the Accordion menu on the left-hand side to select your asset groups and click on those you would like. You can select more than one, and the asset groups will add these to the drop-down menu on the chart.
Once you have selected your asset groups, you can configure the time periods to be presented on the chart. There is a morning, afternoon, and evening slot. Click and drag each blue circle on the timeline to create the time window you want. You can choose 30-minute slots.
If your asset group contains an occupancy device, which provides an 'area count' or the number of people in an area, you can choose to show this on your chart by toggling 'show max people in area'.
Click 'save', and your Footfall panel will be created.
What's on the Footfall Panel
The Footfall panel has four main features:
Footfall statistics by morning, afternoon and evening
Peak analysis in each time box
Max people counts in the selected area
Previous day highlights
Footfall Statistics
The Footfall panel provides an overall count of people entering and out of the space, detailed by the number next to the title. In addition, you also get an in and out count to view the general flow into (or out of) the area.
Peak Analysis
Each of the time boxes has an associated peak time. The peak time is the highest overall flow of people in and out of the area. For example, on the below panel, there were 37 entrances and exits during 11:00 and 11:15.
Max People Count
The max people count will show you the largest number of people recorded in the area over the whole day. It uses an occupancy sensor, such as a PointGrab Cognipoint, or Vergesense sensor, to calculate these numbers. This is particularly well placed for identifying whether you exceeded capacity and need to make allocation changes.
Previous Day Highlights
You can view the previous day's highlights on the Footfall panel for a quick comparison against the current trends on your day and quickly assess changes between days of the week.
