Tracking overall floor capacity and historical trends

The capacity chart provides an overview of the capacity information of a building or floor. It will dynamically change based on the floor selected in the Accordion menu. It is made of two parts: the capacity overview and the traffic chart.

The Capacity Overview

The overview panel provides key statistics on the floor to allow you to better monitor the current statistics for that floor. These statistics can be amended at any time within the occupancy zone associated with that floor.  A floor must be selected in order for the capacity chart to display a chart.

  • Net Internal Area: Displays the net internal area of the floor or building.

  • Allocated FTE: Displays the total number of Full Time Equivalents allocated to the floor or building.

  • Nominal Capacity (BOCA): Displays the Nominal Capacity input for the floor or building.

  • Limiting Capacity: Displays the active limiting capacity of the floor of a building based on the lowest value of the following: Means of Escape (MOE), Vents, Toilets or Volume.

  • Workspaces: Displays the total number of workspaces allocated to the floor or building.

  • Occupancy: Displays the number of people currently on the floor as well as the number of people who have entered and exited the area over the given time period.

  • Live Capacity: Displays the remaining capacity of the space based on the current occupancy and the limiting capacity.

  • Minimal Available Capacity: Displays the lowest level of capacity over the given time period.

The Traffic Chart

The traffic charts monitors the number of people entering and exiting a building and displays every occasion that a threshold has been exceeded. The data on the graph can be viewed over a daily, weekly, monthly or custom time period, which is customisable in the chart filters. The plotted line has three different colours indicating the state of capacity:

  • Green: Within capacity thresholds

  • Yellow: Close to exceeding capacity thresholds (-10%)

  • Red: Exceeded capacity thresholds

When a building is selected, all floors within the building will be selected as part of the table and the key values displayed for each allowing easy cross comparison of floors. In this table some additional values will be displayed:

  • Capacity: Displays the individual normal, limiting, MOE, vent, volume and toilet capacity.

  • Average Capacity: Displays the average capacity of the floor over the period.

  • Peak Capacity: Displays the peak capacity of the floor over the period.

  • Limiting Ratio:  Displays the peak capacity as a percentage of the limiting capacity.

  • Workspace Ratio: Displays the peak capacity as a percentage of the workspace total.

  • Capacity Ratio: Displays the peak capacity as a percentage of the nominal capacity.
