Maximise utilisation safely with accessible, real-time capacity data

The Capacity View provides your staff or tenants with an easy way to understand the current occupancy levels of a space so they can make decisions on which floors, rooms or spaces are safe to enter. Here's what this article covers:

Kiosk Overview

The Capacity View enables you to display the capacity of up to 5 building, floor or asset groups. Designed to assist with managing traffic, the Capacity view can be displayed in the browser at key locations, such as lift lobbies and entranceways, to guide staff to areas under capacity and away from those at high capacity, either for safety or utilisation purposes.

The Capacity View displays the current number of people in an area as a percentage of the threshold capacity of the area. It will display an amber exclamation mark when the floor goes above 75% capacity and a red exclamation mark when the floor exceeds 100% capacity.

Configuring your Kiosk

Any Metrikus editor can create a kiosk view. To create a kiosk panel:

  • Navigate to the "settings" icon at the top right of your home page and click on this to bring up the portfolio settings.

  • From here, select "Kiosk Setup" and a new window will popup.

  • Click on the "settings" icon next to capacity and you will then be presented with the capacity configuration window.

  • Select "Add new configuration" where you will be able to select all your parameters for your new Kiosk panel.

  • To configure your panel, you need to provide:
    - Title: A panel name for internal reference
    - Threshold: The capacity limit for the selected asset group
    - Asset Group - The main capacity area to monitor

  • You can choose whether to have your capacity displayed as a percentage or as a number on the kiosk.

  • You also have the option to compare up to 4 additional asset groups to be displayed on the right-hand side of the kiosk panel.

  • Once you have completed your selection click "save" at the bottom of the window.

Displaying Your Kiosk

Any kiosk that has been created will be displayed in the Capacity window.

To the right, you will see the options for each kiosk panel:

  • Regenerate Link - Creates a new randomly generated link that can be displayed on any device with a web browser connected to the internet. Doing this will also stop the previously generated link from working.

  • Open Kiosk - Opens the kiosk panel in a new web browser tab.

  • Edit - Edits the existing panel and change the capacity setup.

  • Delete - Deletes the chosen kiosk panel.

To open your panel, select "Open Kiosk" and it will open to the kiosk in a tab in your browser. Each kiosk has its own unique URL that can be copied and pasted into other address bars to display the kiosk.  The Kiosk will show a sidebar if at least one area was selected to compare the primary asset group with.

Kiosk Settings

The Kiosk has two settings that are accessible within the tab it is displayed in. These are:

  • Dark Mode - this changes the Kiosk from your default theming to a dark theme.

  • Full Screen - this maximises the browser

Once you have set up your Kiosk, we would recommend that you turn on full-screen to hide your address bar and your unique URL.
