Historical utilisation trends & comparisions between areas

The Utilisation and Comparison charts give you a historical picture of utilisation in the selected area as well as an ability to compare the utilisation across multiple areas. Through the combination of the two, you can identify the most and least utilised areas and times. This article covers how you can set up both:

Creating a Utilisation Chart

You can create these charts from the 'Occupancy' overview panel. To get started, create an 'Occupancy' panel and provide it with the initial filters to show the occupancy chart options. It will look like the image below:

You can then select additional utilisation chart options by clicking on any of the buttons at the bottom of the overview panel:

 Occupancy Utilisation

The occupancy utilisation chart displays the peak and average utilisation of an area for a given time interval. The average utilisation is displayed in the bar with the peak utilisation being shown by the line. A peak value of 100% represents that on at least one occasion during that time period, all seats were in use.

To set up a utilisation chart:

  • Click on the filters icon - shown by the funnel

  • Configure the filters:

Chart Type: The type of area being analysed
Time: The time period that will be analysed
Interval: The aggregation interval e.g day or hour
Asset Group: Select the group that you would like to analyse. Note that any asset group underneath the group selected will also be included.

Occupancy Comparison

The Occupancy Comparison chart allows you to compare average and peak utilisation between different departments and locations.

To set up the comparison chart:

  • Open the filters using the ‘filter’ icon in the top right corner of the panel

  • Configure the filters:

Comparison Type: Select between department and location
Time: The time period that will be analysed
Operational Hours: Whether the analysis should be restricted to only operational hours
Departments & Location: Select the departments to compare and the locations where you want to retrieve information from. E.g if you only want to compare the finance information from the 4th floor in 10 Arthur Street, select Finance & the 4th-floor group in the accordion.

  • Click Save.

Occupancy Ranking

The meeting room ranking chart allows you to construct a league table of the meeting rooms within your space to identify the most popular rooms and overall utilisation on a room by room basis. Allowing you to rank meeting rooms by most or least utilised, you can easily keep track of whether rooms are slipping in utilisation and ensure your cohort of rooms maintain high utilisation.

Within the chart, you can select whether you would like to arrange the selected rooms by most or least utilised and show either 5, 10, or 20 rooms.

The percentage change is calculated against the period of the same length immediately before the period that is selected in the filters.

To set up the occupancy ranking chart:

  • Open the filters on the right-hand side of the panel

  • Configure the panel:

Time: The time period over which the average utilisation will be calculated
Operational Hours: Whether non-operational hours should be included in the average
Asset Group: The asset groups that will be included in the ranking. All meeting rooms below the selection will be included.
